How an FPO actually works — one day for groups thinking of forming one
Rs 600 per person
We formed our producer company in Kota and made most of the mistakes on the way. One day, covering: what a producer company can and cannot do, the registration steps and what they really cost, how to structure share capital so members stay committed, and where the grants are. The part people find most useful is the honest bit: how much unpaid work the first two years take, and why most FPOs that fail do so on governance rather than on markets. Come as a group of three or four from the same village if you can. One person going back alone with the idea rarely gets anywhere.
